As a continuation of our growing relationship with Chicago Public Schools, IIT has formally launched the Collens Scholarship, an initiative that offers eligible CPS graduates the opportunity to attend IIT as a full-time student with full financial support for all tuition, books and fees. Since the launch of the Collens Scholars Program at the end of the 2006 academic year, 159 CPS students have benefited from this scholarship. This need-based scholarship honors former IIT President Lewis Collens, who served the university from 1990 to 2007, and marks his legacy of commitment to Chicago Public Schools and the city at large.
